Nova Max Link
Frequently Asked Questions
Whether you are newly diagnosed or an experienced person living with diabetes you might ask:

Can I continue to use the Paradigm Link?
You can continue to use the Paradigm Link with the same confidence that you have experienced in the past. You are not required to switch to the Nova Max® Link™ or any other alternative monitors that communicate to your insulin pump.

What is the advantage to upgrading to the Nova Max® Link™?
The Nova Max® Link™ is the replacement system for the Paradigm Link. The Nova Max Link was created with the same quality and proven technology as the Paradigm Link. The increased memory size and the additional benefit of No Coding with the Nova Max® Link™ are improved features for your safety and ease of use. Additionally, the Nova Max® Link™ uses the same test strips as your Paradigm Link; therefore there is no need to obtain a new prescription for test strips.

What Medtronic pumps will communicate with the Nova Max® Link™?
The Nova Max® Link™ will wirelessly communicate with Medtronic Paradigm 512/712 and higher insulin pumps.

How do I receive a free upgrade to the Nova Max® Link™?
Simply call Nova Customer Care at 1-800-681-7390 to receive your free upgrade to the Nova Max® Link™ monitor. Nova Customer Care is available 24 hours, 7 days a week to assist you with your upgrade and answer any questions that you may have.

Do I need to send my Paradigm Link monitor back?
No. You can continue to use your Paradigm Link as a back-up monitor. Both the Paradigm Link and the new Nova Max® Link™ use the same test strips.

Do I have to code the Nova Max® Link™ each time I open a new test strip vial?
No. The Nova Max® test strips provide a no-coding feature for your safety and ease of use.

Is my insurance going to pay for this?
The Nova Max® Link™ is provided at no-charge. The Nova Max® Link™ uses the same Nova Max® test strips that are used in the Paradigm Link; therefore the same coverage will apply when upgrading to the Nova Max® Link™.

Is it true that other monitors are claiming to be exclusively certified by Medtronic?
To clarify any confusion, the Paradigm Link was tested and approved by the FDA to use with your Medtronic insulin pump as well as widely promoted and distributed by Medtronic. The Nova Max® Link™ is the replacement for that system and uses the exact same proven technology. This means that you can continue to use your Paradigm Link or Nova Max® Link™ to communicate with your Medtronic insulin pump.

How will the Nova Max® Link™ monitor be shipped?
The Nova Max® Link™ will be shipped to you most likely via UPS. We have a variety of shipping timeframes that can accommodate your needs. We do not use UPS for PO Boxes or Puerto Rico; therefore USPS Priority Mail will be used in these situations.
